Gilbert’s breath had caught in his throat at what he had just walked into, the sight tugging harshly at his heartstrings. His immediate instinct was to step back so that he wouldn’t interrupt the brunette’s moment. Swallowing hard, he couldn’t bring himself to pry his eyes away from her kissing this stranger.
A twinge of jealousy instantly settles in, but he doesn’t dare do anything about it. Who was he to come into what was happening when it didn’t involve him? It hurt to watch, of course. It threw him off completely. From the looks of it, this wasn’t just an affectionate kiss a relative would give another while bidding their goodbye’s to one another. From the looks of it: it was romantic. So why…?
Without another thought he quickly takes his leave, forgetting the plan he had, forgetting any question or favor he had to ask of her. Dismissing the excuses he had to simply be around her, he left the room & didn’t look back. Questions whirring in the back of his mind, screaming at him. He didn’t have any right to be angry, he knows. But it bothered him. It bothered him because it made him feel less. Played. Betrayed. They shared moments like that. It never came to mind that Asha would be the type of woman to do something with one person & turn around & do it with another.
