"Regrets just bear us down."
He carries so many regrets, so many things he wish he has done & hasn’t done.
REGRETS DO BEAR US DOWN.
But he holds on. He holds onto those regrets for personal reasons. Pathetic reasons. Reasons to beat himself with. Until there’s nothing really left of him, until he can’t really focus on anything as well & he has to turn to wine in order to feel better. To numb himself. To him, he doesn’t have any good reason to hold onto these regrets & he knows it. He knows it & so does everyone else.
But he continues on. He does it to ‘teach himself’. To become stronger? To pity himself? To not make the same mistake again? To just do things so that he won’t have anymore regret in the future. So he’ll run out of reasons to make himself numb at midnight… Break’s words are true, but it’s not that easy for him to just let it go. Accept the mistakes he’s made, the errors he’s made, he’s made progress but he doesn’t notice it. So he holds on, still. With or without permission of the next person, it’s all he really knows: punishment. He’ll always regret things, so will other people, we’re only human. But he might not ever be able to not regret the things he’s done in his past… How could he?
