he let go of gilbert’s cheeks after he was aware he had caught his attention. “i wrote something, and i don’t know if it makes sense. can you check this over for me?” places the open notebook on gilbert’s lap before sitting down beside him on the couch. “i’m like 80% sure it’s correct but i’m still not completely sure.” he points at the paragraph he needs gilbert to read for him.
“and if it doesn’t make sense, explain to me why it doesn’t. please and thank you.” he places his hands on his lap, fiddling with his own fingers while he waits for a response from his father.
“You know, you could of just asked, instead.” he smiles, taking the notebook after it’s placed onto his laps. “All right,” crossing a leg over the other while he sits back. Golden optics scanning the paper quickly, reading carefully in case there are in fact any flaws in the writing ( which he highly doubts. After all, his son is a very talented writer ). After a small moment of silence, Gilbert finally moves once he’s done reading. Handing the notebook back to its owner & shaking his head
“Nope. Nothing wrong with it at all. No spelling errors, no punctuation errors, it all makes perfect sense as well. It’s perfect as always.” Gilbert noticed the fidgeting of Ethan’s fingers when he was reading. He seen from the corner of his eye. He places his larger hand onto the boy’s crown, ruffling his hair as praise. “You write incredibly well, Ethan.” true talent.

personality: gilbert is a reserved man, an introvert at its best. however, gilbert can be stern. he does have the tendency to lose his temper with people who give him back talk or are just blatantly disrespectul. he's humble, observant, courageous and clumsy. Gilbert is prone to be sarcastic yet he's easy to embarrass. he has the tendency to become worried, stressed & overwhelmed easily. he's certainly not the type to lie to people that he knows well. Gilbert's also very cautious with the people he meets. Gilbert is strongly protective of people that he holds dear.
Beneath his dark facades which apparently possess a mysterious air, Gilbert is also rather high-spirited and social around those who have been with him long enough. He takes interest in arts from stories to paintings. He's loyal, tenacious, optimistic. He's supportive of his friends around him, especially to the ones that are like family to him.
